Believe it or not, there is now a brand new fiber optic cable between the UK and Ireland. Installed in the depths of the Northern winter... 144 fibers or 72 fiber pairs in all. We just doubled the existing number of fiber connections between the UK and Ireland. It was a tough damn job - but I was a small part of it - and we did it!!

I love the Philippines! 'Not so keen on Belgium on a cold winter's night but anything has to be better than trying to bury in-field power cables on an offshore wind-farm! ...And, to be fair - that laughing beer isn't too bad, really! :D
